Whenever we speak of resort vacations, all-inclusive, Caribbean resorts tend to be the first thing we think about. And they are awesome, but not always what you are looking for in a resort. Maybe you are looking to stay closer to home or just want to travel domestically. You’re in luck then because the United States has some fantastic luxury resorts throughout the country that offer something for everyone.

These resorts offer luxurious accommodations and hospitality and are brimming with a variety of activities to appeal to all ages, from horseback riding and fishing to spa treatments, wine tastings, kids’ clubs and so much more. They are located in pretty much every region, and have activities for all seasons. Whether you are looking for a family vacation or a romantic getaway, there is a resort for you.  Keep in mind that while they may advertise themselves at all-inclusive, they will not be as inclusive as the Caribbean spots. “All-Inclusive” plans in the US will vary and may not include all food, or gratuities. Your travel advisor will help you understand the inclusions.

I could go on all day about the amazing resorts out there, but for starters, here are five of the top resorts in the U.S. that will have you vacationing like royalty.

Enchantment Resort and Spa, Sedona, AZ

Sedona is truly one of the most magical places in the US, and Enchantment certainly lends itself to that magic.  Set among the dramatic red rocks of Sedona’s Boynton Canyon, Enchantment invites you to become one with the nature around you and pay tribute to the region with Native American influenced activities.  Active travelers can hike or mountain bike through the region’s trails.  Golfers will enjoy the Tom-Weiskopf-designed championship golf course.  Those wanting relaxation will not want to miss the award-winning Mii amo spa.  And of course, let’s not forget our littlest adventurers who can take part in Camp Coyote, a children’s program designed to explore the area’s natural and cultural surroundings.

Grand Wailea Maui, HI

Imagine being able to soak up the views of Mt. Haleakala and the Pacific Ocean from your private lanai.  You can do that at the Grand Wailea Maui, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. It sits amid 40 acres of breathtaking tropical landscape and on some of the most breathtaking oceanfront in Hawaii. It has been named one of the Top 10 Resorts of the Valley Isle as Maui is fondly known.  The Grand Wailea has everything – beauty, romance, action, Hawaiian culture.  Do you love the water? The beach it sits on has been rated the number #1 beach in America by Dr. Beach, but it also has 9, count them, 9 pools. The kid’s program is considered the most extensive one in Hawaii.  Art lovers will appreciate that the resort hosts the largest collection of art in the state. But the Grand Wailea’s pride and joy is that it is the leader of Hawaii’s farm to fork movement, with most of its food and beverages cultivated on Maui.
